Virtual Desktops

Personally, I was using 3 virtual desktops and today I switched to 4 of them. I wonder how many VD people are usually using (if any) and how to they sort things out between these desktops?

  1. 2 at home, 4 at work.

I always keep the browser maximised on the first one. Maybe one konsole too. The rest of them hold random stuff. Mostly konsoles. :)

  2. I use 4 VD: one to keep intesting interenet pages and work stuff separately, another – for PostgreSQL or MYSQL database GUI, third – for work console and browser and fourth – just for some other stuff.

  3. Than I have something similar than most of the people :)

    I have 4 VD:
    1. – firefox fullscreen
    2. – konsole fullscreen
    3. – other applications
    4. – monitoring stuff

  4. I personally use three of em, cause I use Alt-Fn for switching and Alt-F4 for closing window. One desktop for browser, other for terminal and third one for other work.

  5. I think occupy screen space with monitoring is so last century… Configure some form of notification that would alert you when something goes wrong. And free up some desktop space. :)
